Noga tenga is one of the most exotic berries found in Assam and northeast India. It is soft, sour and has a seed inside. Ideal for making pickles. Noga tenga, also known as Rhus semialata is mostly found in Meghalaya, Nagaland and few other states of northeast India. Though it is a popular fruit especially among the NE Indian people, it is not easily available in all the markets especially in the metro cities. The Noga tenga used in this pickle recipe has been collected from Shillong, Meghalaya and is of very good quality.
Noga tenga pickle goes well with rice and daal. Just be careful that you are using a dry spoon in the bottle and put the cover tightly after opening the seal. Best use before 24 months from the date of manufacture.
