Star fruit is a popular fruit in Assam, NE India and in Asian cuisine. This vitamin C loaded fruit has a sour taste, very juicy and idle for making pickle and squash. People who love sour pickles (khatta achar) should definitely try this Assam’s special Kordoi achar. The mustard seeds used with the star fruits in making the pickle give it a delicious strike of flavour. Star fruit, locally known as Kordoi in Assam is good for plenty of reasons. It is a good source of healthy plant compounds. It is helpful in reducing fatty liver and cholesterol risk.
This pickle goes well with rice and daal. Just be careful that you are using a dry spoon in the bottle and put the cover tightly. Best use before 12 months from the date of manufacture.
