Homemade Sweet Olive Pickle

Indian olive sweet pickle is something that everyone loves. It has been made with the traditional recipe using jaggery, turmeric, salt, mustard oil and Indian spices. The special Indian olive, locally known as Jolphai or jolpai in Assam is a specific kind of olive which is available only in some parts of the country and Assam, northeast India is blessed to be having suitable climate and soil for growing this specific kind of Assam olive. This vitamin C loaded fruit is good for making pickles, chutneys, Assamese Jolphai pitika (boiled and mashed jolphai with salt and chillies) or Jolpai sweet pickle which is another level of taste where olive is mixed with jaggery and other amazing ingredients.
This homemade Jolphai sweet pickle goes well with both rice and roti. Just be careful that you are using a dry spoon in the bottle and put the cover tightly after opening the seal. Best use before 12 months from the date of manufacture.
